FAQ's

Regulated and significant trees must not be damaged. Tree damaging activities such as removal or killing of a significant tree could be treated as a serious offence and you could be fined. Ensure you contact your council first if in doubt and want to apply for removal of a significant tree.

Refer to your local council. Council’s Significant Tree Register defines significant trees as “those trees that make a major contribution to the everyday landscape and are therefore of special value to the community”.

Refer to the handbook- Trees & the Law Booklet which references all you need to know about liability and tree damage. Find out more.

Refer to our homepage on ways to minimising bushfire risk on your property or refer to the CFS website.
